Occitania and its most beautiful villages in France
The old region Languedoc Roussillon, Midi-Pyrenees, today called Occitania has real wonders. The villages around Gaillac are superb. Whether Castelnau de Montmiral, Puycelsi or Bruniquel, all have a soul, important traces of the past.
During your visits to the medieval villages of the Tarn, you will discover superb houses made of stones or half-timbered timber. They are very well maintained, restored and give the village a superb cachet.
Church of Puycelsi
The church that we see today dates from the 15th century. It is 35 meters long and consists of 3 spans. The bell tower is 45 meters. I invite you to look up and look at the magnificent painted frescoes.
Photo of Puycelsi
If you have little time to visit the surroundings of Gaillac, I suggest you leave before discovering the village of Puycelsi. Frankly this is one of the nicest I've seen. A haven of peace and a superb view on the surrounding countryside. (© Photos by E. Buchot)
