St. Stephen's Cathedral (Stephansdom in German) is the cathedral of Vienna, Austria. It is located in the first district of the city.
This cathedral is of Gothic style, but in the center of a Baroque district. His drone "Die Pummerin" weighs 20 tons. Its roof consists of glazed tiles, arranged in linear patterns, diagonally. On the roof of the eastern part is the emblem of the Austro-Hungarian Empire: the two-headed eagle. The highest spire of the cathedral is 136 meters high, making Saint Stephen's Cathedral the highest religious monument in Vienna, in front of the votive church.
Severely damaged during the Second World War, the cathedral was restored in seven years and reopened in 1952. It was visited by Pope Benedict XVI in 2007.
