Rouen is located in the north west of France only 1h30 from Paris in the department of Seine Maritime in Normandy. With its 113,000 inhabitants, Rouen is a city of human size particularly pleasant to discover. I invite you to visit the beautiful historic center made up of half-timbered houses. The whole old town is pedestrianized: a treat for locals and tourists.
You will see pictures of the splendid cathedral Notre Dame de Rouen whose construction beginnings date from the 12th century.
Construction continued in the 13th century. Ravaged during the Second World War the cathedral was completely rebuilt. You will also discover pictures of the Gros-Horloge with its astronomical clock, emblem of the city. The dial dates from the 16th century. You will see the facade of the courthouse of Rouen. Unique in it's genre. But above all the beauty of Rouen comes from its narrow streets lined with colored houses with timber frames. I wish you a pleasant journey to Rouen. © Photos by Emmanuel Buchot
