Visit of the old French cities - Rouen
France is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful countries to visit. If Paris is a marvel, it is not the only one. I invite you to discover, among others, the city of Rouen located in Seine Maritime. This medieval town has important traces of its history, notably with Joan of Arc burned in the main square.
Suburb of Rouen
By moving away from the heart of the historic center of Rouen and going into the afubourgs, you will discover a different old town. Unlike the center composed almost entirely of half-timbered houses, in the suburbs you will discover an alternation of houses made of stones and others with no wood. You will be charmed by the beauty of the old town.
Houses of the city of Rouen
The historic center of Rouen is a marvel. The medieval and Renaissance epochs left many traces. To see them you have to go to the right bank of the Seine. The left bank is modern and has less appeal. In the historical district you will discover beautiful traditional houses with unique facades and mostly classified as historical monuments.
Neighborhood of Gros Horloge
In the historical center of Rouen, you will discover old tourist districts. Le Gros Horloge is one of them. It is actually the emblem of the city. A belfry and an astronomical clock welcome the visitor. The clock dates from the Middle Ages, 13th century. Colorful and unique today you can visit a museum in these places. (© Photos by E. Buchot)
